Our Aqua-knockers

When you are ready to brave the water....

These specific knockers are designed to be worn in water.

They are make from an acrylic wool, which copes with being wet better than wool or Cotton. they are stuffed with a netting to prevent them becoming waterlogged , making them easier to swim in and get dry.

To request knockers...

contact us via the website or by email at knockers@oakleystitchers.org.uk

To enable us to get the knockers that match your request the best. Make sure you provide:

  • The cup size you are looking for,
  • How many,
  • The 'type' Aqua or Day2Day knockers,
  • Any colour preference (please be aware we cant see what natural is ;-) and its never going to be exact) we also offer coloured ones or something a little funky
  • An address for them to find you safely.

When we receive your request, we will respond to each email received, including some generic 'Blurb' which we hope will answer all of the questions you have, and some you may not have even considered yet.

If you are requesting for someone else, you are amazing!!!

However, as sometimes, receiving a surprise/random set of knockers, no matter how well meaning, can be a little distressing for some. Especially if your feeling sensitive or, still working through how you feel. Therefore, We will put a hard copy of the blurb, with a note to let your friend or family member know that you have requested them.

We offer our Knockers for FREE to ensure that no matter what the circumstances, you can still receive some. However, if you would like to donate, please use the information on the donation page or at the bottom of the response email.

We always love feedback as it helps us to help others, after all it is where a lot of the blurb comes from.

Further support...

We are not experts in this field, however with the help of others who have either provided us questions, thoughts or contacts we have identified the following support agencies who may be able to help with the more medical or practical side with more knowledge of the finer details than us.

Please always talk to your medical team in the first instance as they will be able to give you local support an provide the best personal support and guidance tailor made for you, as they know your individual circumstances far better than we do.

We hope that you find the following organisations helpful. please let us know if we have missed anyone you have found to be amazing! lets give them a shout out and

I was having problems with my hospital prosthetic (stuck up with tape in places😢) and getting a new one so I decided to try one and have never regretted it. I had my mastectomy in 1997 so am very fortunate. You can reassure ladies there is life after a mastectomy and at nearly 87 I am grateful. It is so good there is more support now.

Other support items that we provide.

Pressure relief pillows
We have set out to create a multipurpose item to help with the challenges of post surgeries such as heart, mastectomy or any other procedure where it may prove useful.
Often post-surgery, it is helpful to have protection of some kind, to alleviate pressure on the wound while it heals, a relief from additional pressures (eg seatbelts) or as a support/ aid memoir, while remobilising and rehabilitating.

We have tried to create a dual-purpose item that can be future proof and not only provide protection during recovery but also a useful support for a phone, book or I-pad while in hospital / healing.. and beyond.

Please contact us if one of these would help with your recovery.

 Drain bags
 for  surgical wards and individuals

On occasion post surgery, a drain is inserted to remove any build up of fluids. Our drain bags provide a little discretion and a comfortable way to Support the drain bag itself while its in place.

Again, if you feel these could help, please get in touch.

Chemo hats

Like the knockers these are made with 100% cotton yarn to ensure that they are as soft and comfortable as possible on your head, especially if hair is reducing or your head is particularly sensitive.

if you feel that any of the items above would be helpful to you. Please contact us on:

I love my Aquaknockers

Dear Oakley Stitchers,

I have just received my aqua knockers.. they are absolutely amazing! Very comfortable.

Thank you so much.  The information inside was perfect. I opened it,  well,my little boy actually helped open it!

(He loves opening the post with me!) And everything  fell out.

The info leaflet I've found today for my aqua knockers is perfect!

Thank you so much again.

Steph

They fit really nicely.

HI Stitchers

Thank you so much. It (the KK) arrived on Saturday and you were right, it was huge!! But I’ve taken lots of the filling out and it’s now fitting really nicely. It’s actually a bit strange to be evenly matched again after such a long time; I think it will take a while to get used to it. But I'm very happy, and grateful for your support. Thank you.

Very best wishes

So emotional receiving my knockers

Hello Caroline and you lovely ladies.

I gave my friend, your lovely knitted knocker. To say she was overwhelmed is an understatement. She was very emotional and extremely grateful for your generous gift.

I haven't seen her since I gave her the booby due to the weather, but she has worn it in her home.

Thank you so much to all you lovely ladies.
